In Spanish, Intramuros means “walled city”. Intramuros was built by the Spaniards during the 16th century and is the oldest district of Manila. Churches, government buildings, museums, state houses, schools and plazas are some of the places that can be seen when visiting Intramuros.
Mall of Asia
Mall of Asia was constructed last 2006. Being one of the biggest malls in the world, it offers many selections for shopping, dining, and leisure. There is also an ice skating rink inside the mall and a sports arena outside, serving a maximum capacity of 20,000 seats.
Built in 1956, Binondo church was formerly known as Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish. It was constructed for the purpose of serving the Chinese and Filipinos who were converted to Christianity. Despite having been destroyed several times during the war, it has been renovated and restored for the use of its devotees and as tourist attraction.
The National Museum is an educational, scientific and cultural institution that acquires, preserves and showcases works of art, cultural and historical artifacts. These are preserved collections of our culture and heritage displayed for both local and foreign visitors. It is a 10-minute drive away from the hotel and is open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm from Tuesdays to Sundays.
